The Elmira Heights Theater is a single-screen, 720 seat, art-moderne style theater. It was built in 1948. Not much is known about the history of the theater through the years (if you have any stories, please share them with us!). The theater was closed in 2000 but re-opened in 2002 and is currently under new ownership as of November 2008. The building is owned by Dr. Robert Wylie and Ms. Sharon Vogt and the business is owned and operated by Erich Herzig and sister Karah Herzig.
The Theater shows first-run, current movies, typically two per week, that have premiered weeks prior. The Theater staff strives to uphold patrons’ high expectations of cleanliness, service, and quality entertainment for the entire family. The Heights hosts many organizations and events throughout the year as well.
